Roadside services

Six services cover almost every roadside call. Each page explains what it is, when you need it, how it is billed, and what to ask.

  • Towing

A tow moves a disabled or unlawfully parked vehicle to another location on a truck or lift.

  • Jump start

A jump start uses an external power source to start an engine whose battery is too discharged to crank it.

  • Lockout

A lockout service opens a locked vehicle without the key, usually with a wedge and a long-reach tool.

  • Flat tire change

A roadside tire change swaps a flat for your spare. It is not a repair and it does not include a new tire.

  • Fuel delivery

Fuel delivery brings enough gasoline or diesel to reach a station, typically two or three gallons.

  • Winch-out recovery

A winch-out pulls a vehicle back onto the roadway from mud, snow, sand or a ditch.
